Bookkeeping & Cloud Accounting

Good records. A better starting point.

A useful set of books makes the next conversation easier. We help you organise your records and establish a way of working that fits your business.

Is this the right support?

  • Limited companies that want their books kept up to date through the year
  • Sole traders who would rather not do their own bookkeeping
  • Businesses moving from spreadsheets to cloud accounting software
  • Owners who want to understand their numbers between year ends

The work itself.

  • Recording sales, purchases and expenses
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Keeping customer and supplier balances in order
  • Flagging missing receipts or unclear transactions
  • Weekly, monthly or quarterly routines

How information reaches us.

Bank feeds

Your business bank account can be connected to your accounting software, so transactions arrive without manual entry.

Receipts and invoices

Receipts can be captured with an app such as Dext, or forwarded by email, and matched to transactions.

Questions

Where something needs explaining, we ask in one place, rather than in scattered emails.

The role of QuickBooks and Xero.

We work with QuickBooks and Xero. If you already use one, we can usually work in your existing account. If you are starting out, we can help you choose and set one up. Software subscriptions are separate unless your proposal says otherwise.

Agreed before we begin.

We agree how often the bookkeeping happens and what it covers before we start. If older records need catching up first, we scope that separately so you know what is involved.

What we'll need from you.

  • Access to your accounting software, or permission to set it up
  • Business bank statements or a bank feed
  • Receipts and invoices as they arrive
  • Answers to the questions we raise

Four quiet steps.

  1. 01

    Conversation

We talk through the business, your current setup and what you need.

  2. 02

    Proposal

You receive a written quote setting out the scope, responsibilities and fees.

  3. 03

    Setup

We arrange access and agree how information will be shared.

  4. 04

    Ongoing work

We complete the agreed work and tell you what we need along the way.

Worth asking.

  • Usually, yes. We will look at how it has been set up and tell you if anything needs tidying first.
